VP Marketing

The VP, Marketing will be responsible for leading, developing and managing all aspects of marketing including demand generation, content, online, public relations and product marketing. The individual must be heavily data-centric, so a background in gathering, analyzing and managing to the data is critical. It is a small team (2 people + multiple contractors) but we already generate an incredibly large amount of free inbound leads and the company is growing very rapidly. This is a fantastic opportunity to define and lead the marketing for a company that has the potential to become web-scale.

The position will report to the CEO, who is a multi-time successful startup executive and will be part of a leadership team that boasts an incredible amount of experience, intellect and a will to win. Plus, as a bonus, we are based in beautiful downtown Los Gatos its large selection of restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques.

The go to market model is “land and expand” with our SaaS solution driving rapid sales cycles with smaller initial deal sizes and then growing over time as the use cases expand within the customer. Our customers include such leading organizations such as Amazon, eBay, Microsoft, Penguin Random House Publishing, UberEats, PWC and hundreds of others. Our product is applicable to the largest or the smallest of companies across many verticals – but experience in the retail/ecommerce sector would be particularly relevant.

The following objectives are key to success in the role:

  • Demand Gen - Drive growth in visitors, leads and opportunities for the sales team
  • Messaging - Help the company better articulate the value proposition to the market.  
  • Sales Support - Develop marketing and sales collateral that support the sales process.
  • Visibility - Increase brand visibility
  • Measure - We firmly believe in data driven marketing


  • Manage all aspects of marketing: planning, budgeting, metrics and reporting
  • Lead and build a team of internal and contract resources
  • Measure and improve key metrics including acquisition, retention, conversion, engagement & satisfaction


  • Previous experience in a marketing leadership role is required, preferably for a B2B SaaS company operating a high-volume model
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to achieve outstanding results
  • Willing to get your hands dirty - this role involved both personal execution as well as leadership of others
